If you look at how much the different car models have lost in value in percentage terms compared to their new price, you can see that the four worst-affected wagons are electric cars.

It looks worst for the Renault Zoe 41 kWh small car, which, according to the compilation, has lost as much as 73 percent of its value.

BMW i3s, Nissan Leaf 40 kWh and Hyundai Ioniq Electric have also lost over 60 percent.

In fifth place on the list of which car models have lost the most value, we find a plug-in hybrid in the form of the Volkswagen Passat GTE.

High prices for electric cars are deleted

Electric cars are more expensive than the equivalent gasoline or diesel car, but the compilation shows that the extra cost falls almost entirely on the person who buys the electric car new.

Because the electric cars have lost so much in value, the difference to the equivalent petrol or diesel cars is not as great on the used market.

Anyone who thinks that the price supplement for an electric car is too high can therefore benefit from looking for a used electric car.
