After the murder of the woman in Lessebo – investigation into breach of confidentiality is closed

The 22-year-old woman who was found murdered at a wind shelter in Lessebo municipality in May, had, according to information given to SVT, previously reported her family for subjecting her to honor oppression, violence and threats.

In mid-June, a friend of the 22-year-old made a report to the police. She suspected that the police disclosed the 22-year-old’s protected personal data to the relatives who are now suspected of the murder.

  • – She received a call from a relative and she took it to mean that the police had sent them a letter stating her new address, says the woman who got to know the 22-year-old at her new place of residence.

    The investigation closed

The Special Prosecutor’s Chamber decided to open an investigation into a suspected breach of confidentiality, but it was dropped in July according to documents that SVT Nyheter Småland has seen.

    – We have collected a lot of documents and heard someone about the case. Nothing shows that the police or prosecutors have disclosed the information. That is why I have written off the case, says prosecutor Anders Jakobsson.

The Special Prosecutor’s Chamber only investigates suspected crimes within the police force, and the prosecutor cannot therefore rule out that her information was revealed in some other way.

Filed a report – was contacted shortly after

A year ago, the 22-year-old woman filed a police report against her relatives in Lessebo. After a few months, the preliminary investigation was dropped. It is in connection with this that her friend believes that her protected information was disclosed.

The 22-year-old lived in a place in Norrland and had also, on his own initiative, changed both his first and last name. Nevertheless, the people she felt threatened by found out where she was.

A few more months later, in May this year, the 22-year-old was found dead in a wooded area in Lessebo. Three relatives are in custody, suspected of murder and grave breach of privacy.
