Young man detained for murder in Bro – arrested after the police film

A young person has been detained on suspicion of the shooting death in Upplands-Bro in the northwest of Stockholm on July 30, reports the local newspaper Mitt in Stockholm.

A 35-year-old man was then shot dead with several shots in a residential area. The police suspect that he was not the intended target but that it was a misfire.

The man is on probable grounds suspected of the murder of a man in his 30s, as well as aggravated weapons offences.

Police surveillance video

About a month after the Aug. 29 murder, police released surveillance footage of the suspected killer and appealed for the public’s help.

In the video, a masked person was seen scouting, and walking at a leisurely pace towards the residential area, which later became the scene of the murder.

The man now in custody could be arrested the same day the police released the film. Shortly after the arrest, he was requested to be detained.

Another suspect

From the documents of the Attunda district court, it appears that one more person is suspected in the case, but the person has not been arrested at the moment, according to the local newspaper.

Prosecutor Martin Westling does not want to say whether the person in custody is the same person seen in the police surveillance video from the murder scene.

– I note that it is a younger man who is in custody on probable cause, he tells Mitt i.
