A Hamas commander who led an attack during the October 7 attack last year has been killed in an airstrike on Gaza, Israel’s military says.
According to Israel, Ahmed Fawzi Nasser Muhammad Wadiyya is said to have entered the Israeli community of Netiv Haasara by parachute and there to have overseen the massacre of the residents.
In a widely circulated video from October 7, he is seen calmly drinking Coca-Cola in front of two injured children whose father, Gil Taasa, has just been killed by a hand grenade.
A total of 22 people were murdered in Netiv Haasara, an agricultural cooperative near Gaza’s northern border, in the large-scale Hamas attack that started the war in Gaza.
Wadiyya is one of eight Hamas members who have now been killed in an Israeli air attack on Gaza City, writes The Times of Israel with reference to the military.
