YouTuber Dave “DAVE” Heinrichs released his YouTube show The Race this year. There is now a second season planned and filming is expected to take place this year.

What is The Race about? The YouTube show follows five participants on their journey from one country back to Germany. They travel through many other countries and have nothing with them except their passport, some food, a bottle and camping equipment.

There are also important rules, such as that only one national border may be crossed with one means of transport, not several, and that help may only be accepted from strangers, not from friends or family. These and other rules make the format a great entertainment that has thrilled millions.

In his latest YouTube video, Dave revealed some information about the upcoming second season.

The current information about the second season of The Race

What is the biggest change in season two? According to Dave (via YouTube), this season will have a wildcard candidate in addition to the regular participants. This means that anyone can apply for the format and one person will then be selected from the applications.

The following criteria must be met:

  • Minimum age 18 years
  • Upload a 90-second introductory video to YouTube
  • Fill out the form with further information
  • be able to take between ten and fourteen days off this year

    • With this last statement, Dave revealed information that he immediately confirmed in the YouTube video: “It’s actually being filmed this year.”

    What else will the second season look like? Further information about the location or the names of the other participants is not yet known. It is likely that the other candidates will be rather “unknown”, as in the first season, meaning they will not have a very large following. This was highlighted positively by many viewers, at least in the first season.

    Even before Dave called for applications, viewers were keen to be part of the format. According to him, many had already contacted him via direct message to ask to take part.
