Police warning: Do not touch unexploded grenades

In 2024, the police’s National Bomb Data Center has detected an increasing number of explosive hand grenades that did not detonate after being thrown.
Now the police go out and warn the public.
“Dangerous objects found by the public may under no circumstances be picked up or touched,” the police write.

In places where acts of violence have occurred during the year, the police have found an increased number of undetonated objects. There is a risk that unexploded ammunition may remain on the site, which poses a risk to the public.

– If you find a suspiciously dangerous object, you must immediately contact the police. The public must not move in an area after a detonation until the police have checked the scene. These dangerous objects may only be handled by the police’s bomb technicians, says Malin Nygren, head of the police’s national bomb data center.
