Madagascar Surgical castration of child rapists validated by implementing decree

In Madagascar, surgical castration has officially become a reality for rapists of minors. Last week, the Malagasy government announced that it had issued a decree requiring this surgical procedure for criminals, marking a new era in the country’s criminal legislation. The Big Island, which adopted this highly controversial text last February, has therefore become one of the few countries in the world to authorize the practice of this irreversible surgery. The implementing decree, issued discreetly on Tuesday, August 27, has not yet been made public.
