Wife on set: Roselyn Sánchez played an important role in The Rookie episode

In season 2, episode 16, reporter Valerie Castillo plays an important role. During the episode, she befriends Lucy Chen, although Tim doesn’t seem particularly enthusiastic about it. In retrospect the situation allows for much morethan it may have seemed at the time. After all, Lucy and Tim were not yet lovers at the time. As we know, the relationship only really took off in the fifth season. But from today’s perspective, the episode is something very special on a meta level.

The reporter Valerie Castillo is played by Roselyn Sánchez, Eric Winter’s wife. The two have been married since 2008long before The Rookie was even filmed.

The real marriage sheds new light on the encounter between Sánchez and O’Neil. Of course, this only happens from the perspective of us viewers on a meta level. But we’re happy to accept the nice wink.

Roselyn Sánchez is a successful actress herself

The guest appearance in her husband’s series certainly did not harm the actress’ career, but She was probably not dependent on it. After all, Sánchez himself has acted and starred in successful series.

Sánchez became known to a wider audience in 2005 when she took on the role of Elena Delgado in Without a Trace. This was followed by the comedy-drama Devious Maids. Most recently, she was seen as Elena Roarke in Fantasy Island.

Eric Winters met the Puerto Rican in 2005 before they married in 2008. The two are now Parents of two children and still happily married. And as the professional actors that they both are, Chenford apparently did them no harm.
