Players in Baldur’s Gate 3 hate an enemy that returns damage three times; it is very easy with the right strategy

One type of enemy in Baldur’s Gate 3 is so annoying that players hate him. However, he is extremely easy to defeat with a simple strategy.

What kind of opponent is annoying? Baldur’s Gate 3 players are annoyed by a fiend-type monster: a Cursed Goblin. This appears in Act 3 of the game and is a unique monster that you find on a boat in the harbor.

The monster is level 12, making it one of the tougher enemies outside of boss fights. Its abilities include the Ray of Disease, which causes two d8 poison damage in a beam that reaches up to 18 meters. It can also fly.

On Reddit, however, players are annoyed by his passive ability: if the goblin takes damage, he returns it three times as much as acid damage. This can kill a character within one round. However, according to the commentators, there is a very simple solution.

How to easily defeat a level 12 boss

How to defeat him easily? There is a common opinion in the comments under the reddit thread: if you attack the cursed goblin, you are entering into a difficult fight. Instead, you should simply throw or push the opponent into the water.

Since the fight takes place on the deck of a ship, you are surrounded by the sea. Therefore, throw the goblin overboard with a character with high strength using the throw action. Alternatively, you can use a spell such as thunder wave, gust of wind or telekinesis and let the opponent go over the railing.

This kills the goblin, even though it has wings and should theoretically be able to fly away. A similar bug already existed with one of the larger boss enemies in Baldur’s Gate 3: Vampire Lord Cazador could simply be pushed to death for several months. He now knows that he can fly again.

What about the goblin’s loot? If you hand enemies over to an abyss or the sea, their loot is usually out of your reach. From the sea, you can use spells like telekinesis to bring the bodies of your enemies back to a playable area. This way you can loot them later.

This also works with the cursed goblin. However, according to the comments on Reddit, he doesn’t have a single gold piece of loot. So it’s not worth recovering and searching the body. The enemy is at most a pile of experience points to get you to the next level. If you’ve already reached level 12, that won’t do you any good either.

The goblin is annoying and even the fight has no advantages for players. After all, there are only a few abilities in Baldur’s Gate 3 that trigger when a character takes damage. But there is a weapon that heals your troops when the owner has lost all hit points: Blood of Lathander and obtain and use ceremonial weapons
