In Japan, at least four people died and nearly a hundred were injured in Typhoon Shanshan, which made landfall on Thursday morning, reported the BBC.
The deaths were caused by landslides and roof collapses.
According to the BBC, in total more than five million people were ordered to evacuate from the path of the typhoon in the southern part of the country. In addition, hundreds of flights and train services had to be canceled.
The typhoon knocked out power to nearly 240,000 households before it weakened to a normal strong tropical storm by evening.
Shanshan was the strongest typhoon in Japan so far this year.
