[Mis à jour le 8 avril 2022 à 09h26] The 2022 declarative campaign has been open since Thursday, April 7. Be aware that there are several deadlines to be aware of if you don’t want to be caught off guard. To declare your income on time, the deadlines vary depending on your method of declaration. First, if you opt for online reporting like the overwhelming majority of taxpayers, the deadline for filing your tax return is June 8, 2022. Please note that these dates also vary depending on your department of residence. Here is the complete schedule of dates not to be exceeded for an online declaration:
- May 24, 2022 : Departments (01) to (19)
- May 31, 2022 : Departments (20) to (54)
- June 8, 2022 : Departments (55) to (974/976) Overseas
Keep in mind that this declaration campaign can also allow you to regularize your situation with the tax authorities. Here, two solutions are available to you after completing your return, obtaining a refund because you were not taxable in 2021 or over a period of the year. Or else, settle an income tax balance. This balance corresponds to the total amount of income tax that you owe on income received in 2021 after deduction of the amounts that have already been deducted from you at source in 2021. Remember that for taxpayers who use the paper declarationthe deadline for returning it is fixed at May 18, 2022. Yes you are declaring for the first time, your online declaration will be prefilled. It contains certain income already seized such as wages, pensions, unemployment benefits and daily allowances, or income from movable capital. Before validating your pre-filled declaration, you must check the information provided and, if necessary, correct and complete it. the withholding tax introduced in 2019 has not changed anything, you are still required to complete your declaration, it is an obligation.
For this 2022 declarative campaign, the starting signal was given this Thursday, April 7. From this date, taxpayers will be able to declare their income by completing their tax return online. If your home has internet access, it is mandatory to complete your declaration directly online. Otherwise, a dedicated form may be offered to you.
To declare online, you must connect to your private space with your tax number and your password. If you do not yet have a password, enter your tax number, your online access number and your reference tax income. You will find these identifiers on the tax return received in April (tax number and online access number) and on the tax notice received in August N-1 (reference tax income).
If you have forgotten your tax number or your password, on the authentication screen, the procedures allow you to recover your identifiers.
Once authenticated, select the “Declare my income” service. Your online declaration will be pre-filled with information known to the administration. All you have to do is verify your marital status, your address and the pre-filled amounts. You can correct them if necessary. Then, you will complete the other income you have received and the charges, reductions or tax credits to which you are entitled. Don’t forget to sign your online declaration for it to be taken into account.
