Beware of this site that invites your child to discover

Parents and children are all curious to know the composition of the class at the start of the school year. A site invites schoolchildren to log on to find out if they will be with their friends.

The start of the school year is approaching and all students, especially those starting middle school, are wondering if they will meet up with their classmates. Because generally, children are scattered, even though they meet up at recess. This is therefore a new thing that most students are apprehensive about in middle school, and even high school. So, when a site appears to offer children the chance to find out the composition of their class, it attracts curiosity. The site VoirMaClasse.com promises to have all this information in a few clicks, reports Le Parisien.

But it is better to be wary. Because by connecting to this site, young students enter confidential information such as their first and last name, their date of birth, the name of their school, their class… But in the end, they did not manage to obtain the information they came looking for. And for good reason: this fraudulent site perfectly imitating official government sites (with French flags and trustworthy typography) is a new type of scam intended to recover the personal data of Internet users. In addition, as the steps progressed, the schoolchildren were redirected to external links, on which they had to enter personal information again, or register for partner offers.

Faced with this type of scam, the Ministry of National Education has reminded that no system allows you to know in advance the composition of your class before the start of the school year. This is indeed confidential information that is not disseminated anywhere other than within the school establishment, and even less so on an online site. Only the results of diplomas such as the baccalaureate as well as the results of the brevet are revealed publicly with the names and first names of the students.
