Best Pact in Azj-Kahet – Which Nerubians to Support

In the WoW expansion The War Within, you have to choose a covenant again. We reveal which ones there are – and which one you should choose.

This was certainly a shock for some players, but in The War Within you will again be asked to choose a pact. After completing the campaign, you must decide in Azj-Kahet whether to support one of three parties that together form the “The Severed Thread” faction. We’ll tell you everything about the pacts and what effects they have.

How do the pacts differ? The choice of pact determines what kind of missions you will find in Azj-Kahet and what special ability you will receive. Depending on the pact you choose, you will receive different skills that will make life and fighting in Azj-Kahet a little easier.

  • The General: You will gain access to the Nerubian artillery, which you can use to bombard a target area. The General will also search for special memorial sites for you to honor and where you will receive rewards for bonus battles.
  • The Vizier: You have a bag full of different potions that you can use in battle and that have a variety of effects. You also help the vizier search for artifacts and are rewarded for doing so.
  • The Weaver: You can wrap yourself in a cocoon that heals you and then stuns enemies. You can also carry out small stealth missions that lead you to treasures.
  • In addition, all covenants offer the opportunity to investigate rumors in the City of Threads. Here you have to find an informant and then receive a small task – this is basically reminiscent of additional world quests that are rewarded with Kej and gold.

Once you have chosen a pact, you cannot change it this week.

What are the implications of the choice of pact? The impact of choosing a covenant is much less than many fear. Choosing a covenant only determines for the active week what kind of missions you can complete and for which of the three Nerubians you will receive a big boost in bonus reputation (1,000) when you complete the corresponding mission.

These are not “pacts” as you might know them from Shadowlands – but rather temporary decisions that you can change again after a short time.

How long does a pact last? That’s the most important thing: a pact only lasts for one week. So if you choose the general today, that pact will only last until maintenance next Wednesday. After that, you can choose a new pact.

Each pact grants additional bonuses and benefits as your reputation increases, allowing you to unlock new content and rewards bit by bit. It’s up to you whether you play one pact to the end or switch every week.

The best pact in Azj-Kahet: Whatever you want

Which pact is the best? The simple answer: none. Covenants primarily decide which of the three Nerubians you can complete a major mission for and therefore receive a large chunk of bonus reputation.

Since every time you increase your reputation with one of the three Nerubians, you also receive a Renown level for The Severed Thread, it is best to always take the Covenant that will have an increase next. This will ensure that you increase your Renown as quickly as possible and receive various rewards.

Ultimately, the choice of covenant is not that important, as you can make a new one every week. However, keep in mind that the choice applies to your entire warband each time – you cannot make a different choice with different characters. You are bound to the covenant you choose until the next Wednesday.

If you haven’t gotten to the Covenants yet, don’t stress. You still have plenty of time to enjoy all of The War Within’s content in peace, as it will be quite a while before the rest of the content is unlocked with the launch of Season 1.
