Closure of the Den Treek estate
The province of Utrecht agrees with the parents and after-school care that there has been a serious incident. Landgoed Den Treek will be closed until September 1 at the latest. After this date, the cubs will be approximately four months old and will enter a more independent phase, the wolf experts reason. They expect that the wolf pair will then behave less protectively.
Shooting a wolf is not on the agenda now, but the province wants to be prepared in case of emergency. The shooting permit, which was requested after the incident in Leusden, has now been finalized.
