In connection with the statistics, figures are also released on which counties where marriages last the longest and shortest.

It is most common to get married between the ages of 30 and 34, a category followed by the 25-29 age group.

During the summer, the party submitted a motion to the church meeting which is about banning bride handovers – that is, where the father hands the daughter over to her future husband – at weddings in the Church of Sweden.

– I read that a man – the father – symbolically still owns the woman – the bride – who is handed over to another man who will take over ownership of her, said Johannes Svanerudclergyman and author, i P1 Morning when.

But not everyone agreed with him.
