Drunk hunters and hunting with motor vehicles during Jämtland’s first week of bear hunting

Overall, the hunters have behaved well, writes the police in a post on Facebookbut there are exceptions.

Among other things, some hunters have used more than two dogs when following a bear, or replaced a dog in pursuit of the same bear, or hunted with the help of motor vehicles.

A number of reports on hunting offenses have been made during the week.

In addition, hunters have been drunk and behaved inappropriately at the inspection stations that exist, where the bears are taken after they are shot.

– During the entire hunt, we will be out on patrol, says Emma Lindberg, task leader for the bear hunt at the police in Jämtland.
