Hikmet Topaloğlu, 68, from Çanakkale, said that he came to Kum Island every year in August before the pandemic period.
Explaining that the region has a very old history, Topaloğlu stated that due to the illness he experiences, he comes to Kum Island every year in the last week of August and buries his legs in the sand, which is said to have healing properties.
FINDING HEALING ON THE SAND ISLAND
Seyfullah Akçay, 70, said that he has found healing on Kum Adası, where he has been coming for the last 15 years, and that he has not experienced pain in his legs for 5-6 months, and he recommended that people with rheumatic diseases come here.
One of the citizens who found healing on Kum Island, 53-year-old Nuray Aslan, stated that she has been coming to Kum Island for 5 years to seek healing and that it has been good for her pains, and that she has met many people who come here to seek healing.
Stating that he has been coming to Kum Adası for 8 years, 66-year-old İbrahim Bağkazar said, “We come and stay here because my wife has pain in her feet and arms. We also find healing in the sand.”
