A cordon has been put in place pending a technical examination of the place where the man was found. A large police operation is underway near the bus station at Järnvägsgatan down towards Volgsjön in Vilhelmina.
– There are a whole bunch of police officers here who are dressed in white, someone is walking a dog. It’s in the middle of a road, says Vilhelmina resident Ante Fahlén.
The police received the alarm at 06:30 on Wednesday. An area has been cordoned off, police patrols have investigated the scene on Wednesday, interrogations have been held. Several police technicians are on site in Vilhelmina.
Question marks surround the death, it is still unclear how the man died.
– At the moment it is open. We are still working on the case, stated Marie Andersson, RLC officer at the police, at around 1:30 p.m.
The man’s next of kin have been notified.
At 1:45 p.m., the police technicians began to pack up and leave the scene.
