Thats how rich Dan Sten Olsson is

In the 1970s, the company S-blommor began supplying plants to the grocery store. In the late 1980s, they planned to start their own sales channels in order to run the business on their own, and in 1989 things took off in earnest when the very first Blomsterlandet store opened its doors in Jönköping. After that, it took two years, until 1991, before the next store saw the light of day, then located in Halmstad.

The years passed and in 2004 the investment company Stena Adactum, which is part of the Stena Group, chose Dan Sten Olsson at the top, to enter as an owner in Blomsterlandet.

With the takeover, a new phase began as they wanted to expand and become nationwide. In 2018, the collaboration with S-blommor ended and after that Blomsterlandet opened even more stores around the country and today there are well over 60.

Today, Blomsterlandet is a giant in Sweden when it comes to flowers and vegetation. But also when it comes to garden tools and other things that belong to the garden.

Nowadays, everything from shrubs, flowers and grass to irrigation systems, pots, decor and other seasonal goods are sold.

Since Stena Adactum took over as owner in 2018 and chose to “spin off” the company S-blommor from the business, turnover has increased. In 2018, Blomsterlandet had a turnover of SEK 1.4 billion, and since then it has steadily increased:

  • In 2019, Blomsterlandet had a turnover of SEK 1.57 billion
  • In 2020, Blomsterlandet’s turnover was SEK 1.8 billion
  • In 2021, Blomsterlandet’s turnover was SEK 1.9 billion
  • And in 2022, which is the latest reported year, turnover amounted to just over SEK 1.8 billion. In addition, the company’s total assets were measured at an incredible SEK 548 million.

    Not bad.

However, it is not only the company Blomsterlandet that is doing well.

Dan Sten Olsson has worked in Stena AB since 1972 and has been CEO and board member of the group since 1983.

In addition, he is active in several companies in the Stena Group and also in other industries. In some of them he has roles as CEO or member.

He is, for example, CEO of Stena AB, board member of Stena Metall AB and board member of Sten Bulk AB.

The largest of the three companies is Sten AB, which had a turnover of over SEK 55 billion in 2023. After that, Stena Metall AB had a turnover of SEK 44.5 billion and finally Stena Bulk SEK 3.2 billion.

How is it going for Olsson himself then? Pretty good it seems.

According to Tax Agency’s latest information, such as News24 took part in, Dan Sten Olsson had an earned earned income during 2023 of a whopping SEK 20,275,300.

Spread over the year’s 12 months, it corresponds to a monthly salary of SEK 1,689,608.

He also had a surplus of capital that amounted to SEK 103,218,464.
