The 2024 Paralympics are expected to be a crowd success. Over two million tickets had been sold the day before the Paralympic Games, first staged in Rome in 1960, got under way on 28 August.

– The arenas will be full, said the Olympic director Tony Estanguet at a press conference, according to TT.

According to the Swedish Paralympic Committee, the Swedish squad consists of 20 active members and one pilot distributed among seven different sports. Here are the Swedish participants in the 2024 Paralympics and the disciplines they compete in:

  • Cycle: Anna Beck, Louise Jannering, Henrik Marvig.
  • Dressage: Louise Etzner Jakobsson, Lotta Wallin, Lena Malmström, Renée Claesson-Ribring.
  • Table tennis: Emil Andersson, Smilla Sand, Daniel Gustafsson, Alexander Öhgren, Anja Händén, Jonas Hansson.
  • Judo: Nicolina Pernheim Goodrich.
  • Rowing: Ebba Einarsson.
  • Swimming: Conrad Hildebrand, Nicola St Clair Maitland, Pernilla Lindberg.
  • Sport shooting: Philip Jonsson, Anna Benson.
  • The 64-year-old dressage rider Louise Etzner Jakobsson was Sweden’s standard bearer during the opening of the 2024 Paralympics.
