Energy up to 6 of Switzerlands electricity needs from wind

(Finance) – According to the energy expert Lionel Perretdirector of Suisse Eole, the organization that defends the interests of the wind sector, Switzerland could cover up to 6% of its electricity needs with wind energy by 2035. In particular, the wind industry is already looking for workers and the Swiss cantons are working to ground the projects that are currently in the planning phase. This energy could provide up to 4 billion kilowatt hours of electricity by 2035.

Even according to Saskia Bourgeoisof the Swiss Federal Office of Energy, argued that there is potential for wind energy in Switzerland. With further development of the technology, Switzerland could produce 8.9 terawatt hours (TWh) of wind energy per year, of which 5.7 TWh in winter, using 30 percent of the permanently available potential of 29.5 TWh. This corresponds to around 900 wind turbines.
