Aatu Kangasniemi of two sports won a final place in

Aatu Kangasniemi secured a final place in the shot put at the Under-20 World Championships in Lima, Peru.

Aatu Kangasniemi threw the javelin to 70.96 meters and advanced to the finals of the under-20 World Championships with the sixth best result of the qualifiers.

Kangasniemi was only about 10 centimeters away from another final place, when shortly after the moukari qualifying he pushed the ball 18.78 meters.

Kangasniemi’s best ball result of the season is 20.50 meters.

Mico Lampinen threw the putter exactly 69 meters. Ukrainian Artem Cherkashyn threw to the same measure and advanced ahead of Lampinen as the last to the final. The Ukrainian was sixth in his own qualifying group and Lampinen was seventh in the second group.

Elle Ceder ran fifth in the women’s 800 meter heat with a time of 2:08.18 and advanced to the semi-finals based on time comparison. Ceder’s round was won by Italy Nhalula Kabangu with a time of 2:06.98.

In the run, the top went to 62.75 seconds in the opening round. Ceder stayed close to the top and in the second lap got on the gear well on the back straight and finished fifth.

Ceder, 17, has run the distance in 2:06.22 this season. Japan’s was the fastest of the beginnings Rin Kubo with a time of 2:04.53. The semifinals will be contested on Thursday.

100 meter runners Kalle Hirvella and Laszlo Merenyi there was no point beyond the preliminaries. Hirvi finished fifth in his heat and was 31st overall. Merenyi was sixth in his heat and 47th in the entire qualifiers.
