Armand Duplanti’s honest words about the big change – being forced to act for girlfriend Desiré Inglander’s sake: “Had to wear it or break it”

Armand Duplantis was forced to make a big change in his life.
All for Desiré Inglander’s sake.
– For me it was make or break, he says.

Armand Duplantis is the world’s hottest track and field athlete. Not only is he by far number one on the ranking of the best track and field athletes right now, he is constantly making new history with record jump after record jump.

The decision with Desiré

Duplantis was one of the biggest gold favorites of the entire Olympics and he held up to the pressure as he not only won gold – but also broke a new world record, when he flew over 6.25 meters. He celebrated by running straight to girlfriend Desiré Inglander, and they both celebrated with a hearty golden kiss. Desiré Inglander has also had a bit of a rocket career as a model and influencer after she and Duplantis became a couple, and during major competitions she is always there in the stands to support her love.

Armand Duplantis and Desiré Inglander have been a couple for four years now, and for two years they have also lived together in Stockholm. Mondo grew up in the United States, but since he met Desiré has been increasingly forced to speak Swedish. And he made a decision early on that he didn’t want to be a burden to those around him.

– So we quite often have large family dinners. Then you don’t want everyone to have to change their language to English just because of themselves, says Armand The Express.

“Be wear or break”

At first, Duplantis did not have an easy time keeping up with what was actually being said around him, but he still felt compelled to struggle and just learn, which he describes as a “make it or break it” situation.

– It happened several times that it went a little too quickly for me and I was a little left out of the conversations. So for me it was a make or break situation, he says, and continues:

– They speak Swedish to each other, for me it was just a matter of making sure to learn.

Desiré Inglander himself says that Mondo was an easy learner, and that he never really had a problem understanding what was said, rather speaking himself.

– My family likes to speak Swedish with him. In the beginning, when he didn’t know certain words, he answered in English, because he understands everything. But now he’s super talented, she says.
