The MLB league game between the Red Sox and the Blue Jays had to be suspended on June 26. It was played out two months later.
Danny Jansen made confusing baseball history on Monday when he played in an MLB game between the Boston Red Sox and the Toronto Blue Jays. When the game started, Jansen was found in the Blue Jays lineup as a catcher. When the game ended, Jansen was wearing a Red Sox jersey.
Never before has one player represented both teams in the same match, but the reason for this is ultimately simple. The match started on June 26, but had to be stopped due to heavy rain, and the game was not completed until August 26.
Danny Jansen was traded from Toronto to Boston on July 27 and also Boston’s catcher Reese McGuirewho recently started a match, was placed on the transfer list. When the game resumed, Jansen replaced McGuire.
– When I was sold, I didn’t really think about it, Jansen said on the MLB website and said that he had received a lot of messages about it in the last few days.
– Everyone is excited that I am making history. This is so weird. I would never have imagined myself in such a situation and making history. Maybe you have to believe that this has never happened before.
