Kickoff with desirable retro ball – this is how Hallstahammar’s SK celebrated Allsvenskan’s 100th anniversary

Hallstahammars SK is one of 67 associations in all of Sweden that participated in the highest level of Swedish football on the men’s side. HSK was in the allsvenskan season 1931/1932 and 1938/1939. The other two associations from Västmanland are Västerås IK and Västerås SK.

The symbolic kick-off was performed by two veterans. Ove Öberg with 229 games in the red shirt and Harald Björk with 124 games (Harald has also made an impressive 166 games and 107 goals in VSK).

Hallstahammar now plays in division 5

After the kick-off, HSK played a match against Hornafrik IF, which the home team won 2-0. HSK is currently the league leader in division 5 – a bit from the glory days of the 1930s.

– We hope to keep our league lead so we can get up to fourth and then work our way up to the Allsvenskan again. We take one year at a time, says chairman Peter Hödefors and smiles.

In the clip above, the veterans play tricks with the commemorative ball and reminisce.
