A 30-year-old truck driver from Brampton has been charged with careless driving after a commercial-vehicle crash snarled Highway 402 in Sarnia and sent one person to hospital, Lambton OPP say.
The crash took place around 7 am Tuesday west of the Indian Road exit. Multiple trucks, including some stopped in a queue to cross the Blue Water Bridge, were involved.
“One driver was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” police said Thursday in a statement.
The highway was reopened about 12 hours later after the vehicles and debris was cleared, police said.
FOUR SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN CORUNNA
Three Sarnia residents and one Windsor man are facing charges after officers were called about suspicious people near a Corunna grocery store, Lambton OPP say.
Police were called around 8 p.m. Sunday to St. Clair Parkway near Bunker Avenue, near the No Frills, and two suspects were taken into custody and charged with mischief. But officers noticed a nearby vehicle with two people inside and found an allegedly impaired driver and a passenger with drugs who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Jayson Johnson, 49, and Kayla Siklosi, 32, from Sarnia have been charged with mischief.
Janelle Routheaux, 26, also from Sarnia has been charged with impaired driving.
Abbas Zeidan, 42, from Windsor has been charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with a release order.
The Sarnia residents were released with upcoming court dates while Zeidan was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER 402 CRASH
A 28-year-old Sarnia resident has been charged with impaired driving following a two-car crash on Highway 402 that sent three people to hospital with minor injuries, Lambton OPP say.
Firefighters, paramedics and police responded to the collision around 1 pm Saturday in Plympton-Wyoming.
“Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage,” police said Thursday in a statement.
The suspect failed a roadside test and was arrested.
Mary George is facing two charges and was given an upcoming short date.
