The World Health Organization WHO under the UN and the children’s organization Unicef implement the vaccination campaign in cooperation with the Israeli Armed Forces.
Polio vaccines have been delivered to more than a million people in the Gaza Strip, according to the COGAT agency under the Israeli Ministry of Defense on message service X.
The agency says the vaccines were delivered through the Kerem Shalom border crossing on Sunday. It said international and local medical teams will vaccinate children across Gaza in the coming days.

In August, the first case of polio in 25 years was reported in Gaza.
The WHO has previously said that it is extremely concerned about the spread of polio in the Gaza Strip.
US Secretary of State by Antony Blinken the spread of polio has also worried Israel. During his visit to Israel in August, he said that Israel has agreed to support efforts to vaccinate children in Gaza against polio.
