Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a new message on the night of the 43rd day of Russia’s attacks on Ukraine. Zelenskiy said that Ukraine acted very bravely during the war and will spread this courage to the world and said, “If everyone in the world had at least ten percent of the courage that we Ukrainians have, there would be no danger to international law.”
“We will spread our courage,” said the Ukrainian leader. “But it is not enough to stop the war yet. First of all, Ukraine needs weapons that will allow us to win on the battlefield. This will be the strongest possible sanction against Russia,” he said.
“RUSSIA CONTINUES TO LOSE”
Arguing that Russia continues to lose power on some platforms, Zelenskiy said, “We have good diplomatic news today. Russia is slowly losing even on platforms that it considers quite comfortable for itself. In particular, the UN General Assembly approved the decision to suspend Russia’s membership in the Human Rights Council. Russia has long had nothing to do with the concept of human rights. Maybe one day that will change. But so far, the Russian state and the Russian army are the greatest threat to the concept of freedom, human security and human rights on the planet. After Buça, this is already obvious.” Zelenskiy, who blamed Russia for the civilian deaths in Bucha and Mariupol and mentioned that these scenes were also seen in Borodyanka, another city in Ukraine, commented, “The situation there is much worse.”
“RESPONSIBLE PERSONS WILL BE DETECTED AND PUNISHED”
Continuing to criticize Russia about what happened in Bucha, Zelenskiy said, “New information comes about the preparation of a “mirror reaction” to the shock of all normal people from what Russian propagandists saw in Bucha, so to speak. They will make the victims in Mariupol look as if they were killed not by the Russian army, but by the Ukrainian defenders of the city. To do this, the invaders collect corpses on the streets, take them out. It can be used in other places according to the developed propaganda scenarios. We are dealing with invaders who have nothing left of humanity. They only take as props as propaganda material the people killed to justify their own murders. And this is a separate war crime for which each of the propagandists will be held responsible. More and more countries around the world support the need for a full and transparent investigation of all war crimes of the Russian invaders in Ukraine. Every murder will be solved. Each of the executioners will be found. The identity of all those who rape or loot will be determined. Responsibility is inevitable,” he said.
“TURKISH EMBASSY RETURNED TO KIEV”
Following his speech, Zelenskiy stated that he spoke in the parliaments of Greece and Greek Cyprus today and called on these countries to tighten sanctions against Russia, and announced that he will address the Finnish parliament tomorrow. Mentioning that he started to move the embassies of some countries, especially the Turkish Embassy, back to Kiev, Zelenskiy said, “I would like to state that the diplomatic representatives of other states have returned to the capital. The Turkish Embassy returned yesterday. The Lithuanian Ambassador returned today. Previously, the Slovenian Embassy in Kiev resumed its work. I am sincerely grateful to the friends of Ukraine who have supported us exactly as needed, both at the symbolic level and at the level of diplomatic gestures. The presence of foreign diplomatic missions in Kiev, the normal operation of embassies, is a clear message that Kiev is our capital against aggressors. “It’s not the provincial city of Russia, it’s the capital of Ukraine,” he said.
