Twelve hours after Hezbollah responded to the death of its military leader, party Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah claimed success and assured the failure of Israel’s preemptive campaign of raids. In a sign of de-escalation, the Shiite leader said life could return to normal in Lebanon and called on those who had fled their homes for fear of a full-scale war to return home.
