Strong increase in cross-border trade in the first half of the year – Norwegians traded for five billion Norwegian kroner

According to figures from the Norwegian statistics authority SSB, Norwegian consumers have shopped for just over 5.1 billion Norwegian kroner during the first half of the year in Sweden. This corresponds to an increase of 12.9 percent compared to last year.

    The record year for the shopping center was 2019 before the pandemic, when Norway chose to close its borders for a period.

    – During the pandemic, we learned that around 85 percent of our customers are Norwegian consumers.

    Products that are under the most pressure are tobacco, food and alcohol.

    – But other industries are also starting to stand out a little, such as pharmacy goods, says Claes Sjöholm.
