    A Reuters journalist who reports on the war in Ukraine has disappeared since an attack on a hotel in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk, writes Reuters editorial director in Russia, Guy Faulconbridge at X.

    Two more are injured and have been taken to hospital.

    Several people raised the alarm about a loud bang in central Gävle at half past six on Sunday morning.

    The police rushed to the scene but found nothing to indicate a detonation.

    The police are investigating the incident as public vandalism.

  • Man arrested after explosion outside synagogue

    A suspected perpetrator has been arrested by French police after yesterday’s explosion at a synagogue, reports say BBC.

    The man is suspected of setting fire to and causing an explosion outside the synagogue near the town of La Grande-Motte.

    In French media, it is reported that the suspect shot at the police who were about to arrest him. He was then shot at himself and injured.

    Five people were in the synagogue when the explosion took place. One police officer was injured, but not life-threatening.

    Eight Palestinians have died in an Israeli attack on Deir el-Balah overnight, sources in Gaza told Al Jazeera.

    According to the source, six of the people must belong to the same family.

    Kjell, who disappeared from his home in Obbola in Umeå on Saturday afternoon, has not yet been found.

    During Sunday, a large search effort continues with personnel from the Home Guard, the mountain rescue and the police. A helicopter from the Maritime Rescue will also be used.

    He is described as social and contact-seeking. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing green jeans, brown shoes, a green shirt and a beige linen jacket. He is 183 centimeters tall.

    The police urge the public to keep an eye out for Kjell and call 114 14 in case of sightings.

  • Suspected attempted murder in Enköping

    A man is suspected of attempted murder in a residence in Enköping at around two o’clock on the night of Sunday.

    The police were alerted to a disturbance in the residence and once there they encountered a man in his 30s who had been injured with a sharp object and taken to hospital.

    Another man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The man was later arrested.

  • Many dead in bus accidents in Pakistan

    At least 35 people have died in two separate bus accidents in Pakistan on Sunday, the country’s authorities said.

    The first accident occurred in the province of Baluchistan in Pakistan, when a bus carrying Shia Muslim pilgrims returning from Iraq fell into a ravine. At least twelve people died and 32 were injured.

    Just a few hours later, another bus fell into a ravine, this time in the province of Punjab in eastern Pakistan. At least 23 people died in that accident.

    It is burning with open flames in the premises of the social office in central Bengtsfors, reports Dalslänningen. The emergency services are currently on the scene to try to extinguish the fire.

    The founder and CEO of messaging app Telegram, Franco-Russian billionaire Pavel Durov has been arrested at Le Bourget airport outside Paris.

    According to sources in the French police, Durov has been arrested as part of an investigation led by Ofmin, part of the French justice system that works against the exploitation, violence and abuse of children and young people. The app is considered to facilitate criminals in general through lack of moderation, handling of cryptocurrency and unwillingness to cooperate with authorities.

    Telegram is a fast, encrypted and very popular app for sending messages, pictures and clips. For example, it is used a lot by both sides in the war between Russia and Ukraine.

    Durov has previously stayed away from France, knowing the risk of being arrested there. A wanted man and an order to arrest him if he appears on French soil had been issued, according to the French TV channel TF1.

  • Boy robbed by masked criminals

    A 15-year-old boy was robbed during the night by three masked criminals in Alingsås.

    The people took the boy’s phone and headphones before leaving the scene on foot.

    The police have searched the area with a dog but no suspect has been found.

  • Fire in stairwell in Helsingborg

    Police and emergency services were called during the night to an apartment building in Helsingborg.

    The fire is said to have started in a storage room and a toilet.

    No one has been injured.

    The incident is being investigated as arson and there are no suspects at this time.

  • Another death after a traffic accident

    Another person has died after the serious fatal accident outside Hjo, reports New Lidköpings-Tidningen.

    In total, two people have died, one person is still being treated in hospital.

    Next of kin have been notified.

    A villa has burned to the ground in Hässleholm.

    The fire is said to have started in a vehicle in the driveway and then spread to the house.

    The police do not suspect any crime.

  • Suspected attempted murder on Gotland – two injured

    Two men have been taken to hospital with stab or cut injuries on Gotland. The police were called to a home in central Visby at half past three, after a witness heard a commotion.

    – We have started a preliminary investigation into attempted murder, says Mikael Pettersson, RLC officer at the police.

    Three men in their 20s and 30s have been detained, suspected of being involved in the fight. Two of them are the injured people – who are being treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.

    It is still unclear exactly what happened.

    – Perhaps it will become clear during the morning when we can conduct more proper interrogations with them. Considering their injuries, it was not time to hold interrogations during the night, says Mikael Pettersson.
