Niklas Anttila and Eveliina Salonen in the silver positions before

Niklas Anttila and Eveliina Salonen are chasing Finland’s first World Cup gold medals in frisbee golf.

Niklas Anttila can go from second place to Finland’s first Frisbee Golf World Cup gold in Virginia, USA on Sunday.

Anttila took silver in the fourth round, which was played on the night between Saturday and Sunday Finnish time. Anttila played the score nine under, and improved his total score to -29.

– When the throw goes, it doesn’t matter if you are on an open or wooded course. I felt that if there were mistakes, they were mostly errors of judgement. The throwing itself is really good. I am satisfied, Anttila evaluates his penultimate round in an interview with Frisbeegolfmedia.

The leading US Isaac Robinson has a combined score of -32 before the final round. The third is the American Calvin Heimburg with a score of -27.

The fifth, i.e. the final round, starts at 17:33 Finnish time. The top group of four, in which Anttila plays, starts the round at 22:15.

– I give everything I can. Go to Finland or nothing, Anttila anticipates the final round.

In the open series, those who reach the top 80 play the final round. The Finns are also there Väinö Mäkelä (shares 29th place, with a result of -12), Lauri Lehtinen (T31, -11), Nestori Tuhkanen (T51, -6) and Tuomas Hyytiäinen (T64, -3).

In the women’s series Eveliina Salonen is also in second place with a combined score of -19. In the lead is the US Holly’s Handley with a score of -20.

Salonen played the worst of the competition in the fourth round, two under his worst result.

– It’s a bit surprising that I’m still only one throw away. It felt like there weren’t too many good throws or putts in that round. I’m quite happy with the fact that I’ll be able to play a little better tomorrow, hopefully, Salonen said after the round.

42 women can participate in the fifth, i.e. final round. The round starts at 14:30 Finnish time. Eveliina Salonen starts her round at 16:30.

– I try not to stress, and of course throw better. Let’s hope that today (Saturday) was the worst round of the race, Salonen predicts the final round.
