The trip to the International Space Station ISS on June 5 was supposed to last eight days. But it didn’t happen that way. The reason was technical problems with the new Boeing spacecraft that was supposed to take them from there.
The departure date has been postponed on several occasions, but on Saturday it finally became clear. This after a collaboration with the space company SpaceX, whose “Dragon” craft departs from Earth on a routine mission next month.
According to NASA, the decision was made because it is not possible to accurately predict how the troubled spacecraft will perform.
Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore will thus have to remain in space for at least six more months – the equivalent of a regular trip to the ISS.
