For many, a bag of chips is a must for the Friday coziness. Every so often, the chip giants choose to release new flavors that sometimes hit – and sometimes miss.
The new flavor that arrives just in time for late summer is nothing less than “Brown butter, chili and spring onion.”

In connection with the release, OLW also chose to change its design and iconic logo.

“The new design is updated to highlight flavoring even more clearly. Therefore, we have moved most of the written communication to the back of the bag. It gives a cleaner, clearer and more modern look to the front. In line with the other changes to the design, we are also updating the iconic OLW logo, where sparks replace the classic stars,” says Therese von SydowBrand Manager at OLW.

After several launches that I didn’t like as much, this is really a hit from OLW. A combination of Grill chips and Sour cream & onion, with a little extra acid and saltiness from the browned butter (which does NOT take over). Will buy again!

Rams onions are absolutely incredible in these chips. This combined with a perfect amount of chili makes them impossible to stop eating.

OLW’s new chips were unexpectedly good. The ugly bag made me skeptical to say the least, but it was a positive surprise. They have a nice crunch thanks to the small grooves. The taste is not too buttery, but a little cheeky with the chilli meeting the ramen and then easily covered by the browned butter, which only enhances the taste.

This is the optimal chip flavor. They are reminiscent of Sourcream & Onion in the way you can devour a whole bowl without noticing. Incredibly nice, and will only get better with a good dip. A little more scallion flavor is all that is missing for top marks.

The bag is… not that nice, but don’t be fooled by it. A perfect symbiosis between a hint of chilli, browned butter and spring onions. The icing on the cake would be to serve with a scallion dip.

Crispy delicious with a soft and smooth taste of browned butter. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much scallion flavor, which I would have preferred for a more distinct flavor experience. Crispy good with no wow experience
