According to the prosecutor Ambrogio Cartosio, the fatal accident may have been caused by “behavior that was not completely in order”.
– It could be a matter of murder, says Cartosio.
He adds that the preliminary investigation is not directed at any specific person, but that he assumes that the captain as well as survivors among the crew and passengers will stay in Italy, despite the fact that there is no legal requirement for them to do so.
The prosecutor also says that the investigators are not ruling anything out.
– It is actually only the beginning of the investigation, says Cartosio.
