The Finns are in top form at the Frisbee Golf

Niklas Anttila came third in the Frisbee Golf World Championships. Eveliina Salonen, on the other hand, is first in the women’s race.

Niklas Anttila rose to the medal stand in the frisbee golf world championships in Virginia, USA, with a wonderfully successful third round. The third round was played on the night between Friday and Saturday Finnish time.

Anttila recorded a score of nine under par (68) in the third round and finished third in the overall competition with a combined score of 20 under.

– That can happen when you take me to the forest to throw. There are quite a few good throws for me. You have to throw quite a lot of fast fairway driver and long driver hard in the woods. It suits me quite well, Anttila stated for frisbeegolfmedia.

Anttila was the best player of the third round with his result. After two rounds, he shared eighth place.

The open series is led by the defending world champion USA Isaac Robinson with a score of 26 under. The second one is also from the United States Joseph Anderson with a score of 22 under.

In addition to Anttila, there are four other Finns tied for prize money. At the World Cup, the top 84 players will receive at least USD 500 in prize money. The World Championship gold medalist will receive 30,000 dollars, the silver medalist will receive 20,000 dollars and the bronze medalist will receive 15,000 dollars.

Lauri Lehtinen shares 22nd place (with a result of -11), Väinö Mäkelä and Nestori Tuhkanen share the 32nd place (-8) and Tuomas Hyytiäinen shares 77th place (-1).

The fourth round starts on Saturday at 17:00 Finnish time. Niklas Anttila starts the tour at 22:15.

The next two rounds of the competition will be played on the open Ivy Hill frisbee golf course. According to Anttila, that doesn’t suit him as well as the forested New London track.

– If it’s not windy like yesterday (Thursday), I bet I can play on the better side of -10.

In the women’s race Eveliina Salonen goes to the fourth round from the top spot. He shares it with a score of 17 under in one of the US to Holyn Handley with. The third is the American Kat Mertsch with a result under ten.

The fourth round starts at 14:30 Finnish time. Eveliina Salonen goes to the track at 16:30.

In the World Championships, the four best players in both the open side (Mixed Pro Open) and the women’s competition (Women’s Pro Open) get to the final round, i.e. the medal fight.
