The background company of the Ilves SM league team returned

According to the club, the biggest explanation for the drop was the smaller number of matches and events compared to the previous season.

Ilves-Hockey’s result for the ended fiscal year fell by more than one million euros from the previous one. The result still remained on the positive side, being 16,000 euros. The company’s turnover has remained at more than 14 million euros in the last two financial years.

Disc companies have accumulated almost exceptional amounts of profit, as last year the profit was 1.2 million euros and next year it was 2.4 million euros. Ilves-Hockey acts as a background company for the Liiga team and the under-20 team.

The explanation for this year’s financial result was a smaller number of matches and events than the previous season, Ilves says in his press release.

– Among other things, ticket sales for own and other events were lower than the previous season, as were restaurant sales for match events, CEO Risto Jalon the signed release says.

According to the company, the number of audiences and box office revenues also decreased from the previous year, because spring was shorter at Ilves this year than last year and at the same time costs continued to rise. In the financial year that ended, NHL compensation partly made up for the drop in income.

During the season, Ilves-Hockey bought the majority of the Ilves soccer team’s background company, Ilves Edustus. Ilves Edustus Oy’s result for the financial year, on the other hand, was EUR 1.3 million in loss. The combined turnover of the group is more than 15.5 million euros and the result of the whole group is around one million euros in loss.
