Before the week, Alex Norén was in 45th place in the FedExCup playoffs and advancement to the BMW Championship looked difficult, but the Swede played himself up and once here he has moved up considerably.
In the first round, the Swede went four strokes under par, and he repeated that feat on Friday and now stands as sole runner-up at -8.
The Australian Adam Scott leads on -13. It is worth noting that, for example, first day leader Keegan Bradley has not struck out yet.
Ludvig Åberg has not struck out either and he is on par after the first round.
In case Norén takes home second place in the BMW Championship, he will climb considerably in the PGA playoffs and give himself an opportunity to take home the entire competition, if he performs in the final competition at East Lake in Atlanta.
Two days left and the competition is still going on.
