“People may choose not to go to Utrecht, or to do something other than shopping. And that in a period when people are doing their shopping before the new school year starts,” says Roose-van Leijden. Entrepreneurs try to point people as much as possible to alternative routes, public transport and cycling, “to limit the economic damage to entrepreneurs as much as possible”.
