Silent Hill 2 Remake Is Longer and Scarier Than The Original

Silent Hill 2 Remake Release Date and What We Know

The Silent Hill 2 PS5 remake will offer a much longer playtime than the original, with the horror-filled adventure expected to last over 20 hours.

Considered one of the best horror games of all time, Silent Hill 2 took players on an intense 8-9 hour journey of fear when it was released on PS2. However, Bloober Team’s remake for PS5 makes this fearful journey much longer.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Will Be Longer and Scarier Than The Original

Bloober Team’s creative director and lead designer Mateusz Lenart has revealed for the first time just how big the PS5 version of Silent Hill 2 is. After VGC journalist Jordan Middler shared on X (formerly Twitter) that he was enjoying the first hours of the game, Lenart extended his best wishes for “12+ hours of gameplay.” But the real surprise was in Lenart’s description: he stated that for an intermediate player, the game will take 16-18 hours to play, while uncovering all the secrets will take upwards of 20 hours.

The remake looks set to offer Silent Hill fans a much more comprehensive experience, with a longer playtime and in-depth exploration opportunities, while maintaining the dark and disturbing atmosphere offered by the original.
