The mole in “The Black Swan” is sentenced to prison

The lawyer Amira Smajic, protagonist of the acclaimed Danish documentary series “The Black Swan”, has been sentenced to three months in prison for falsifying documents, Ritzau reports.

One month of the sentence is unconditional imprisonment and the remaining two are conditional.

In the documentary, which is shown on SVT Play, the lawyer poses as a mole for investigative journalists on Danish Tv2.

She herself has said that she did this as an attempt to break with her old life. With the help of hidden cameras, connections between Denmark’s upper echelons and the underworld are revealed.

According to the indictment, she drew up a false employment contract that was submitted to court to have a hairdressing company declared bankrupt. She also allegedly lied to a court employee.

The lawyer is already a criminal suspect in another case, which deals with fraud and falsification of documents. She denies any wrongdoing.
