Two women charged with aggravated rape in Rissne in Sundbyberg

The police were alerted early in the morning on May 26 this year to an apartment in Rissne in Sundbyberg municipality, north of Stockholm.

An injured woman was found at the scene and stated that she had been subjected to a serious rape. She was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Seven people, five men and two women, were arrested for the sexual offence. The men were later released and dismissed from the investigation.

– I judged that it was not possible to prove that they (the men) were involved in the deed, says Anders Hirsch, district attorney who investigated the case.

Now the two women, who are related to each other and aged 20 and 25 respectively, have been charged with aggravated rape.

– The plaintiff is not familiar with any of the accused women, says Anders Hirsch.

Prosecutor: The case stands out

According to the prosecutor, the relatives raped the victim “together and in agreement”, and during that time they delivered several kicks and blows to her head and body. In addition, they allegedly pulled the woman by the hair, tore and bit her. The victim suffered a concussion and multiple injuries over the body.

While the assault was taking place, several men who were familiar with the two accused women were at the scene. The prosecutor states that the victimized woman ended up in a “physical disadvantage without the possibility to calm down.”

– There has been a party in this apartment, you could say.

The prosecutor reacts to the case.

– The average rape case that ends up on the prosecutor’s table is usually a man who committed a crime against a woman. In this case, I claim, it is two women who committed crimes against another woman. It is clear that it stands out as unusual, says Anders Hirsch.

The older of the two accused women is also suspected of unlawful threats after, among other things, saying “I’ll kill you” to the victim.

Both deny wrongdoing. The trial begins in early September and is expected to last four days.
