High school student Isak about Skvadern’s profit withdrawal: “Disappointed and appalled”

Isak Smedberg-Modén begins his first year at Skvadern to attend the community program. He says that he has been looking forward to starting at Skvadern, but he was disappointed when he learned that the school’s management had secretly taken out close to SEK 30 million in profit distribution to the school’s board members.

– Skvadern is a great school and I really want to go here, but this is wrong, he says.

Wish to be left alone

In a message to SVT Västernorrland on Wednesday, Skvadern board chairman Jan Nordin writes:

“We have tried to manage the media on a daily basis for the past week to the best of our ability. At the same time, we have our jobs to attend to and are in an intensive period. Tomorrow we want to devote full focus to taking care of our old and new students.”

But Isak Smedberg-Modén thinks the management should talk to the journalists.

– It is quite cowardly to hide from the media now, because indirectly you are hiding from Sundsvall’s residents. I understand that they need to be a serious thinker to come up with what to do. But it’s cowardly not to want to talk to the media about this, says Isak Smedberg-Modén.
