This is how Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder connected in

With Michael Keaton in the role of the titular, cheeky poltergeist, Beetlejuice became one of director Tim Burton’s biggest cult films. 36 years later, a sequel is soon coming to the cinemawhich, in addition to the original stars such as Keaton and Winona Ryder, also features well-known names such as Wednesday actress Jenna Ortega.

As our international sister site AdoroCinema reports, the actress recently spoke about how the first meeting with Ryder for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice went.

Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder developed intense chemistry for Beetlejuice 2

Recently, Ortega spoke about the professional relationship between her and co-star Winona Ryder during a press conference, which was also attended by AdoroCinema. The actress appeared in the first Beetlejuice film as a teenager Lydia Deetz included:

I think it was three days of shooting. Winona and I sat down and finally had time to have a real conversation. It all happened so fast. But when we started talking, we just didn’t move. It felt like hours. And then we went to her house or she came to mine. And we didn’t touch our phones, we didn’t go to the bathroom, we didn’t drink water, nothing. We just couldn’t stop. It’s really hard to be related to Winona Ryder because she’s so cool and easygoing. And Lydia is such a popular character that I think it was a natural pressure to be related to her in some way.

In Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder) is the mother of teenager Astrid (Jenna Ortega), who is skeptical about her mother’s TV show, “The Haunted House with Lydia Deetz.” The death of Lydia’s father and Astrid’s grandfather Charles Deetz ultimately brings the family back to Winter River, where Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) is still causing havoc.
