Police are hunting a man who fled on foot after his motorcycle overturned.

The hunt began on Tuesday afternoon after two people traveling on a motorcycle did not stop for a police patrol’s stop sign in Vänersborg.

After a while, the motorcycle overturned with the people. In connection with that, one of them, a 35-year-old man, was arrested.

– Initially it was for suspected drunk driving, says police spokesperson Peter Adlersson.

During the arrest, however, a backpack was found with a gun-like object and another suspected dangerous object, which will now be investigated by the National Bomb Squad.

– He has been arrested on suspicion of, among other things, serious weapons offences, but there will surely be more classifications, says Peter Adlersson.

The man who ran away is now being searched with, among other things, a dog and a helicopter.
