JJC Pokémon Pocket, the collectible card game on mobile, will be released in October! This free version of the famous license will take the old emblematic cards while welcoming new cards, called immersive.

After inspiring players around the world to roam the streets to capture creatures and entering our dreams, Pokémon is back on our smartphones with Pokémon Pocket TCG, a collectible card game on mobile. Yes, more than twenty years after its launch, the Pokémon card game still unites as much as ever – to the point that some of them are now worth a small fortune. With this new version announced last February during Pokémon Day 2024 and developed by The Pokémon Company and DeNA, the Japanese mobile gaming giant, you will be able to enjoy magnificent so-called “immersive” cards. On the program: collection, player confrontation and even trades. The game will arrive on our smartphones on October 30. Pre-registrations are already open on the App Store and the Play Store.

Pokémon Pocket TCG: simplified rules for beginners

There is already a mobile application related to trading cards, called TCG Pokémon Love. While it mainly allows for clashes between players following the rules of the Pokémon card game to the letter, TCG Pokémon Pocket should work with simplified rules, allowing novices to take an interest in the format. Let’s hope that the two apps don’t interfere with each other.

Pokémon Pocket TCG will include classic cards, but also new cards, including the famous “immersive cards”, which give the impression of literally diving into the illustration of the card. As for the holographic cards, they will benefit from special effects to embellish the rendering and give it volume. Collectors will be able to show off their cards, trade them and take part in friendly battles, thus recreating the friendly atmosphere of the franchise’s tournaments.

Pokémon Pocket TCG will adopt an economic model free-to-play. Thus, players will be able to download the application for free and start their collection without having to pay anything. To enrich their collection, they will be able to open two free boosters per day. In-app purchases (called in-game) will also be offered with the specific currency, PokéGold. A premium monthly pass will also be available, although its details and benefits remain unclear. However, we can imagine that it will offer exclusive bonuses to the most financially invested players. Let’s hope that the imbalance between players will not be too great…
