One of the most anticipated RPGs of the year is postponed to 2025, big gameplay showcase at gamescom

The sequel to the Steam hit Kingdom Come: Deliverance will not be released until next year. The developers of Warhorse Studios announced this shortly before the official start of gamescom 2024.

What did Warhorse announce in detail? Via X, the developers explained that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will not be released in 2024 as originally planned, but on February 11, 2025. They want to use the time until the launch to show a lot of things from the medieval role-playing game.

It all starts, of course, at the upcoming gamescom 2024. The developers promise:

  • a gameplay showcase lasting more than 20 minutes
  • the unveiling of the Collector’s Edition
  • Impressions from media representatives and content creators

    Bigger budget, higher ambitions

What do I need to know about Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2? The role-playing game from Warhorse will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. As in the first part, you take on the role of Henry (Heinrich) von Skalitz, whose campaign of revenge (triggered by the murder of his family) takes you to medieval Bohemia in the 15th century.

Despite the lack of polish, the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance impressed with an immersive game world, characters that grow on you, and a well-functioning mix of role-playing and medieval simulation (you had to pay attention to personal hygiene, food intake, and exhaustion).

The enormous success of part 1 now means that the developers can think bigger with the sequel (and hopefully spend enough time fine-tuning the product). The main character’s voice actor alone is said to have spent 508 hours in the recording studio.
