Gamescom 2024 is just around the corner and will open its doors again with the Opening Night Live. In addition to numerous new announcements, the gamescom awards 2024 will also take place this year. You can find all the details about the award here.
What is the gamescom award? This year, the award honors winners in a total of 15 categories, which are divided into three main groups: Art, Platform and Global.
Fans and visitors will decide on the winners together with a panel of experts. Voting will start on Wednesday, August 21st until Thursday, August 22nd at 2 p.m. Fans and visitors can vote for their favorites in the categories Best of Show Floor and Best Trailer / Announcement.
Who is on the jury? This year, the jury is made up of a total of 20 people from the international media, social media, the USK and journalists. This is the jury:
Leya Jankowski is editor-in-chief of the website MeinMMO.de, which belongs to Webedia GmbH. She is also part of the jury for the gamescom award 2024.
When will the winners be announced? The winners will be announced on the Friday of gamescom, August 23rd from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., in the gamescom studio hosted by IGN in Hall 7. However, the winner of the sustainability award category will be announced during the Opening Night Live.

What is the Best Trailer / Announcement category? Here, fans, visitors and the jury vote for the most spectacular game trailers and the best new announcements. All trailers and announcements shown during the gamescom Opening Night Live are eligible for voting.
What is the Best of Show Floor category? This category honors the best trade fair appearance at gamescom 2024.
What is the HEART OF GAMING award? This is a special prize from the jury and will be awarded to highlights of gamescom 2024. Not only games can win, but also extensions, technologies, people, institutions, companies, concepts or terms.
What is the gamescom sustainability award? This award recognizes an organization for its special commitment to climate and environmental protection. Among other things, the organization’s approach to carbon accounting and emission reductions is assessed. All exhibitors at gamescom 2024 can apply for this category free of charge.
