Romance is perhaps the last thing some people think of when they think of airports. For others, perhaps the last scene of the classic romantic comedy “Love Actually” left a mark, and think that a proposal in the middle of the crowd at an airport, on the contrary, is the most romantic thing there is.
It has been shown that several people each month choose to get married at Landvetter airport in Gothenburg, something that P4 Sjuhärad was the first to report.

According to the radio channel, the sequence of events is as follows: You check in, pass the security check and get married. It has happened so often that a VIP room has been set up for newly married couples.

For SEK 5,900, the couple can hold a wedding in the VIP room, where a maximum of eight guests can fit. Then a bottle of champagne, separate security check and a VIP host, among other things, are included.
The couple themselves are responsible for finding a wedding officiant.
Strömwall says that there can be several practical advantages to getting married at an airport. For example, if you are traveling, or if you want to keep the wedding ceremony small and then have the party in another location.

“All Kinds of Wedding Couples”
– It can be all kinds of wedding couples, she says the channel.
But any classic wedding attire is rare.
– Often the couples are dressed up, but we have not yet seen the full princess cake, it probably takes up a little too much space, says the airport manager to P4 Sjuhärad.
The wedding is civil, and immediately afterwards the couple can fly away on their honeymoon.
