Cross twist in the king’s infected dispute: “Not usual”

Cross twist in the kings infected dispute Not usual

In Sweden, the state owns the property where the royal family has the right of disposition.

And that King Carl XVI Gustaf managing a large number of properties is nothing new. Among them are the Royal Palace in Stockholm, Drottningsholm Castle, Ulriksdal Castle and Riddarholm Church to name a few.

In addition, the king also disposes of several properties on Djurgården in central Stockholm.

The king in a rent dispute

In one of these properties on Djurgården, a rental villa, there has already been a serious dispute between the royal family and a tenant.

The villa, which is a six-room apartment with a cold rent of SEK 11,000 a month, wants the court to be returned as they believe that the tenant has no right to stay. Instead, they want to house the court’s staff in the property, writes Hem & hyra.

The situation came to result in the tenant in 2022 choosing to take the matter to the rent board to apply to take over the contract on the property. The tenant had lived in the property since his parents died.

From the beginning, it was said that the board would come up with a decision on August 22, but that was not the case.

To Home & rent explains Eva Melander Tellhead of the Rent and Lease Board in Stockholm, that the case took an unexpected turn this summer.

– Information came to light which means that the appropriateness of the rent council in question to decide the matter could be called into question, she says.

She explains that there was no deadlock, but that they wanted to avoid ending up in a situation where suspicions of undue consideration for any party arose.

Melander Tell gives no more details than that but says that it may have been about personal relationships with some party.

Now both the tenancy council and members must be replaced before any decision can be made.

– As far as I know, it’s not very common, she says.
